Aru captures his first Grand Tour title

We’re doing everything to make sure the teams work properly and transparently," said Alexander Vinokourov, Astana team manager.Despite cycling’s best efforts to clean up its image, the suspicion of doping remains.A report published earlier this year by the cycling independent reform commission claimed doping continues to be widespread… and that further undermines the integrity of the sport.But organizers of La Vuelta, say the sport is now on the right track.“Of course, yes, the sport is in a very good state. We’ve seen difficult moments, which haven’t always been what has been said but fortunately at the moment it has a huge audience and huge public interest," said Fernando Escartin, technical director.That interest in Madrid was clear… as was the delight for Fabio Aru who now has a Tour de France title in his sights.“It means a lot to me. We have worked really well. We have worked well as a team. My teammates are really exceptional. All the Astana team have done an incredible job... I am very happy with this win. I dedicate this win to all my teammates," said Fabio Aru, La Vuelta winner. China Ebay Cycling is still in the process of rebuilding its shattered image. Having new heroes will only help that cause.
